I have been photographing theatrical productions for over thirty years, when I first found an interest in local theatre. Since then I have photographed over 100 productions, ranging from serious drama and opera to musicals and pantomime.

I have worked in large auditoria as well as initimate theatres both locally and in the West End. Typically I try to capture all the elements of a production – performances, stage design, props and costume.

When shooting productions I try and cover as many angles as possible – in front of the stage, to the side and from an audience perspective. I aim to capture the big picture including ensembles and the set as well as close-ups on characters and props.

My interest in theatre has also seen me take part in over thirty productions, mostly on the technical side but on two occasions as a performer!
